About The Position

Homestead Village is seeking a full-time Driver to join its transportation team at its Life Plan Community near downtown Lancaster. The role involves transporting residents to medical appointments, planned activities, and special events, while providing attentive customer service to older adults. The Driver may assist residents who use wheelchairs or are partially ambulatory, and must help residents safely to and from the vehicle. The position is described as Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends required for events. The posting gives differing weekday hours: 9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. in the role description and 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. in the schedule details.

The Driver is responsible for keeping assigned vehicles clean, fueled, serviced, and in proper working condition; maintaining vehicle inspection, usage, travel, and fuel logs; and contacting residents to coordinate service timing as needed. The successful candidate is honest, dependable, safety-conscious, flexible, and able to use good judgment and work independently. Benefits begin on the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.

Requirements

• Pennsylvania driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Drive residents to and from scheduled doctor and dental appointments while practicing safe driving habits.
• Assist residents with wheelchairs and those who are partially ambulatory when needed.
• Drive residents to and from planned activities and special events.
• Keep assigned vehicles clean, serviced, fueled, and in proper working condition.
• Schedule and call residents as needed to coordinate service timing, as directed by the supervisor.
• Be flexible, receptive, and adaptive to change.
• Escort residents to and from Homestead Village vehicles.
• Maintain daily vehicle inspection, vehicle use, travel, and fuel logs.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
