About The Position

The Craniofacial, Plastic Surgery, and Dental service lines are seeking a Surgery Coordinator to support surgical operations. The role involves complex procedure scheduling, optimizing operating room block utilization, stabilizing depot backlogs, and developing standard workflows that support seamless care. The coordinator plans and coordinates services for families throughout the surgical experience. This includes arranging new-patient, follow-up, pre-operative, PASS, and post-operative appointments; procedures; diagnostic tests; recalls; surgical admissions; and interpreters, in collaboration with families and clinic staff. The role also works closely with the operating room to maximize room utilization, coordinates insurance approvals, and manages patient records.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
At least one year of healthcare scheduling experience as a Family Service Coordinator or equivalent clinical reception/coordinator experience.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree or at least two years of college coursework in health care or a related field.
Significant experience working with the general public in a health care or customer service environment.
Familiarity with other cultures or bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

Schedule new-patient, follow-up, pre-operative, PASS, and post-operative appointments.

Work with the operating room to maximize room utilization and optimize OR block utilization.
