About The Position

Families in Transition is seeking Support Staff to join its Family Shelter. The role provides a safe, clean, and non-threatening environment for people experiencing homelessness and supports the shelter’s daily operations. The position contributes input on policies and programs and helps identify and implement continuous improvements aligned with the organization’s mission. The available part-time shift is Friday through Monday, 3:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Base pay is $18 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding and knowledge of housing safety concerns.
• Demonstrated proficiency in excellent customer service.
• Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with mental health or substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Support effective daily operations of the shelter.
• Document safety and security matters, participant behaviors, medical concerns, and other issues.
• Monitor supplies and request them as necessary.
• Communicate with and engage participants.
• Perform housekeeping as necessary.
• Maintain awareness to ensure a safe and clean environment.
• Provide input on policies and programs and assist with identifying and implementing continuous improvements to shelter offerings and operations.
