About The Position

Families in Transition is seeking Support Staff for its Family Shelter. The role provides a safe, clean, and non-threatening environment for people experiencing homelessness and supports effective daily shelter operations. The position contributes input on policies and programs and helps identify and implement continuous improvements to shelter services and operations in line with the organization’s mission.

Duties include documenting safety and security matters, participant behavior, medical concerns, and other issues; monitoring and requesting supplies; communicating with and engaging participants; and performing housekeeping as needed. The employee must maintain awareness to help ensure a safe and clean environment. The available part-time shift is Friday through Monday, 3:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding and knowledge of housing safety concerns.
• Demonstrated proficiency in excellent customer service.
• Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with mental health or substance use disorders.
