About The Position

The Support Lead helps oversee store associates and daily operations at Five Below, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient store execution. The role trains and supports crew members, assists with merchandising and stock handling, drives sales, controls expenses, and performs store maintenance. The Support Lead may act as Manager on Duty and take responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and urgent issues. The position also includes opening or closing the store and supporting onboarding and ongoing associate training. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Store Manager based on store needs.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Creative thinking.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to perform essential job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekend, and potentially overnight shifts; travel may be required.
• Ability to identify and discern email and printed instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Frequently operate a cash register.
• Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
• Frequently ascend and descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
• Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
• Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers, by telephone and face-to-face.
• Frequently move across the sales floor and between the sales floor and stock room.
• Remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Ensure crew members deliver strong customer service through personal contact and train the crew on the B.E.S.T. customer service experience.
• Help oversee daily activities of store associates and ensure they perform their duties effectively and provide excellent customer service.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock for efficient placement on the sales floor.
• Act as Manager on Duty when needed, taking responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and urgent issues.
• Manage store opening or closing, including securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and preparing for smooth daily operations.
• Support onboarding and ongoing training on store policies, product knowledge, and operational procedures.
• Drive store sales and control expenses by seeking ways to improve merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
• Partner with the store leadership team on merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
• Perform store maintenance, including taking out garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, and maintaining the stock room.
