About The Position

Five Below is hiring an Interim Part Time Support Lead in Charleston, supporting store leadership and daily store operations. The role helps ensure customers receive friendly, efficient service; supports and trains associates; assists with stock and merchandising; and may serve as Manager on Duty or manage store opening and closing. The position also includes store maintenance and other responsibilities assigned by the Store Manager based on business needs. The listed starting pay is $11.50 per hour.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Creative thinking.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts, as well as travel when required.
• Ability to operate a cash register, computer, hand-held devices, phone, walkie, and mobile devices.
• Ability to move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
• Ability to frequently climb and descend ladders.
• Ability to frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop.
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers, in person and by telephone.
• Ability to move around the sales floor and stock room to assist customers and handle merchandise.
• Ability to identify and understand email and printed instructions concerning merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Ensure crew members provide customers with personal, welcoming service.
• Train crew members on the B.E.S.T. customer service experience and help ensure fast, friendly checkouts.
• Help oversee daily activities of store associates and support effective performance and customer service.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock for placement on the sales floor.
• Act as Manager on Duty when needed, taking responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and urgent issues.
• Occasionally manage store opening or closing, including securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and preparing for daily operations.
• Support associate onboarding and ongoing training in store policies, product knowledge, and operational procedures.
• Drive sales and control expenses by seeking improvements in merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
• Partner with the store leadership team on merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
• Perform store maintenance, including taking out garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, and maintaining the stock room.
• Perform additional responsibilities as determined by the Store Manager based on store needs.
