About The Position

The Support CDL Driver fills in on open, vacant, or temporarily unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. The role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards. The position is full-time and based in Omaha, Nebraska. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 AM and continuing until route completion. Drivers may be expected to cover variable shifts based on business needs. An estimated 10–15 hours of overtime is expected each week, with voluntary weekend overtime as needed. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Starting pay is $24.00–$30.75 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered to CDL Class-A drivers. The driver delivers and picks up freight from customers and shippers, assists with morning freight sorting and truck loading, and performs related route and vehicle duties. The job may require travel and handling various types of freight, including hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals. Applicants must be able to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screening, and criminal background check.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license or successfully complete the company-paid CDL training program.
Be able to operate a manual transmission.
Possess or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Have good customer service and organizational skills.
Be able to pass a DOT physical.
Be able to lift up to 75 pounds and perform the required range of motion, including grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, and walking without limits.
Be able to work with freight that may include hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Assist drivers with daily morning duties, including sorting freight and loading trucks.
Deliver and pick up freight from customers and shippers in a timely manner.
Inspect the vehicle and report mechanical problems.
Collect payments as needed.
Verify pickup contents against shipping papers.
Notify management of problems or discrepancies.
Maintain a professional personal appearance and keep the vehicle clean.
Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments.
Travel as required.
Perform other required duties as assigned.
