About The Position

The CDL Class A Driver (LTL) drives a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments. The role is based in Omaha, Nebraska, and involves customer deliveries and freight pickups, completing required documentation, maintaining equipment, and complying with DOT and company safety requirements. Drivers must be able to work independently and assist other drivers as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 7:30 a.m. start and work continuing until the route is complete. An estimated 10–15 hours of overtime are expected each week, paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. The hourly pay range is $24.00–$30.75, based on experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for CDL Class A drivers. Applicants must be at least 21, hold a valid CDL Class A license with a driving record meeting company standards, and be able to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screening, and criminal background check. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. The position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, and to perform a full range of movement including grasping, standing, squatting, climbing stairs, and walking. Freight may include hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license and have a driving record that meets company standards.
Be able to operate a manual transmission.
Possess or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Have good customer service and organizational skills.
Be able to work independently and make quick decisions.
Be able to pass a DOT physical.
Be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Have a full range of motion for grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, and walking.
Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Conduct a pre-trip inspection to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
Submit the pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms.
Deliver palletized freight to customers in a timely manner and pick up freight from shippers.
Verify that all load-related documentation is complete and accurate.
Collect payment for shipments when necessary and return bills of lading to the office for billing.
Maintain certifications required by the DOT and comply with company safety policies.
Wash the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily.
Assist other drivers with loading, deliveries, or pickups as needed.
