About The Position

The CDL Class A Driver (LTL) drives a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments. The role involves pre-trip inspections, completing mileage and maintenance documentation, verifying load-related paperwork, and maintaining required DOT certifications and company safety policies. Drivers also wash the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily and assist other drivers as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 7:30 AM and continuing until route completion. The position is expected to include 10–15 hours of overtime per week, paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Pay is $23.00–$27.00 per hour, based on experience, and the posting offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for CDL Class A drivers. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record meeting company standards, and be able to pass a DOT physical. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Applicants must also pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Requirements

At least 21 years of age.
Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards.
Ability to operate a manual transmission.
Must possess or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Good customer service and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and make quick decisions.
Ability to pass a DOT physical.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform the stated range of motion activities, including grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, and walking.
Ability to work with varied freight, including hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Conduct a pre-trip inspection to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
Submit the pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms.
Deliver palletized freight to customers in a timely manner and pick up freight from shippers.
Verify load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Collect payment for shipments as necessary and return bills of lading to the office for billing.
Maintain all certifications required by DOT and comply with company safety policies.
Wash the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily.
Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup as needed.
