About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is hiring a Support CDL Driver in Omaha, Nebraska. The driver fills in on open, vacant, or temporarily unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. The role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 a.m. and continuing until the route is complete. Drivers may cover variable shifts based on business needs. An estimated 10–15 hours of overtime per week is expected, with voluntary weekend overtime as needed. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. The starting wage is $24.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for CDL Class-A drivers. The position requires a valid CDL Class A license or successful completion of the company-paid CDL training program. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, able to operate a manual transmission, and able to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screening, and criminal background check. A doubles/triples endorsement is required or must be obtainable. The job involves lifting up to 75 pounds and handling varied freight, including hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.

Requirements

At least 21 years of age.
Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license or successfully complete the company-paid CDL training program.
Ability to operate a manual transmission.
Must possess or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Good customer service and organizational skills.
Ability to pass a DOT physical.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, or walking.
Ability to work with varied freight, including hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Cover open, vacant, or temporarily unassigned routes based on business needs.
Assist drivers with morning duties, including sorting freight, loading trucks, and other tasks as needed.
Deliver and pick up freight promptly from customers and shippers.
Inspect vehicles and report mechanical problems.
Collect payments as needed.
Verify pickup contents against shipping papers.
Notify management of problems or discrepancies.
Maintain a professional personal appearance and keep the vehicle clean.
Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments.
Travel as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
