About The Position

The Supply Worker ensures clinical and support areas have the supplies they need by monitoring inventory levels and delivering stock as required. This role is essential in maintaining efficient operations and supporting frontline care. Requirements

  • Completion of High School Diploma or the equivalent (Essential)
  • Previous experience in stores or inventory control (Essential)
  • One (1) year experience in a warehouse environment, preferably within a healthcare organization (Preferred)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills (Essential)
  • Ability to deal with internal and external in a courteous and pleasant manner (Essential)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of surgical terminology and supplies (Essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes to meet organizational requirements (Essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and concisely in English, both orally and in writing (Essentially)
  • Demonstrated ability to take steps to ensure timely completion of tasks by adjusting priorities as required (Essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer software (Microsoft Word™, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, SharePoint) (Essential)
  • Working knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation; general knowledge of corporate/program policies and procedures related to health and safety (Essential)
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position (Essential)
  • Ability to work varying shifts (hours of work) as required by department operations (Essential)
  • Flexible hours including evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Receive shipments of purchased goods; validate count against packing slip and Purchase Order.
  • Inspect freight upon arrival, document any signs of damage, and resolve freight claims with vendors in a timely manner.
  • Complete transactions to receive product, process paperwork, and complete all necessary transactions according to established procedures.
  • Deliver stock to Materials Management and other departments or units as required.
  • Operate electric and manual pallet jacks and other equipment to safely move inventory throughout the hospital.
  • Assist Buyers to resolve inquiries related to receipt of goods and related matters.
  • Scan assigned units required for replenishment per an established daily Replenishment Schedule.
  • Inspect stock storage areas to ensure that necessary materials and supplies are available in user areas; check for out-of-stock items.
  • Handle telephone requests from user areas on a daily basis.
  • Deliver Critical and Urgent items from stores when requested.
  • Ensure stock is rotated and expiry dates are checked to avoid wastage or expiry costs.
  • Maintain a top-up area and Stores work area that is neat and tidy.
  • Execute stock changes as directed by the Stores Supervisor.
  • Make labels for items requested by user areas and as directed by the Stores Supervisor.
  • Perform routine cycle counts to preserve inventory integrity and assist in expiry prevention.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
