About The Position

The Supply Chain Technician coordinates and executes daily shipping, packaging, raw-material handling, safety, and compliance tasks. The role packages finished goods, handles and stages raw materials, operates and maintains packaging and bagging systems and rail cars, and supports safe loading and offloading activities. It also involves troubleshooting packaging-system issues, coordinating with contractors and drivers, completing shipping documentation, and maintaining required records and a clean work environment.

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily shipping and packaging schedules for finished goods.
Offload and stage raw materials.
Complete safety and compliance training.
Package finished goods in bags, supersacks, and rail cars.
Safely and promptly load and offload trucks, containers, and rail cars.
Operate and maintain the packaging system, bagging equipment, and rail cars, including routine preventive maintenance according to established procedures.
Troubleshoot packaging-system issues in the warehouse and at the rail.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by completing housekeeping requirements.
Comply with Safety and Environmental Compliance requirements and stop activities that could cause injury or environmental harm.
Act as a liaison to contractors and drivers, including expelling them from the site if necessary.
Check in drivers and complete shipping documentation according to DOT and IMDG guidelines.
Complete required truck and rail car loading checklists; raw-material truck and rail car offloading checklists; equipment checklists; package labels and load sheets; and warehouse and rail checklists.
Follow DOT requirements for proper labeling, packaging, and placarding.
