About The Position

The Supply Chain Operations Tech represents Billings Clinic departments in a fast-paced environment and provides customer service while supporting the Supply Chain Operations department. The role rotates through the department’s functions and performs clerical and administrative tasks as needed. Duties include shipping and receiving, inventory control, filling stock orders, delivering supplies and equipment, data entry, quality inspections, mail and specimen delivery, and training and orienting newly assigned staff. The position also supports supply distribution and dispatch, coordinates work coverage and customer requests, maintains equipment inventories, prepares and disinfects reusable equipment, and helps ensure products are stored, tracked, and delivered accurately. The technician follows safety, infection-control, and quality standards and may rotate through all shifts or float to areas of need to maintain department services.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Maintain competency in organizational, departmental, and applicable outside-agency environmental, employee, and patient safety standards relevant to job performance.

Responsibilities

Support and model behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission and department philosophy.
Count and refill supplies to predetermined par levels and process system-generated requests.
Use computer information systems, web-based software, and Microsoft Office to look up inventory information, enter counts and orders, and produce pick lists.
Prepare outgoing shipments, ensure correct paperwork and packaging, follow hazardous-material shipping requirements, and arrange freight shipments.
Receive, unpack, inspect, and reconcile shipments against packing lists and purchase orders; enter received quantities and report discrepancies.
Stock and store supplies in designated warehouse areas, maintain orderly stock, rotate dated items, and label products with charge codes.
Review supply requisitions, assemble orders, process returns and credits, maintain delivery records and reports, and enter transactions into the supply chain system.
Deliver supplies and equipment to departments, obtain proof-of-delivery signatures, and deliver or retrieve rental equipment.
Coordinate customer-service issues and routine or STAT requests for supplies, equipment, and courier services; investigate problems and recommend corrective action.
Coordinate daily technician assignments and report staffing absences or shortages to the lead technician or coordinator.
Work with the OR Supply Chain Specialist to ensure products are available for scheduled surgeries and coordinate purchases of surgery items as appropriate.
Perform inventory quality checks, recommend par-level changes, monitor critical stock balances, and identify supply replacement needs.
Receive, distribute, store, clean, disinfect, inspect, scan, and transport reusable equipment; report defects to the Bio-Medical Department.
Enter rental equipment and pump charges into the patient billing system and scan equipment locations to support accurate patient charges.
Clean warehouse shelves and work areas, manage boxes, and sweep floors as needed.
Inspect warehouse sections for outdated or soon-to-expire products and ensure outdated products are not issued.
Perform technician duties as needed, participate in staff orientation and training, assist colleagues with questions and problem resolution, and support quality-control standards and improvement activities.
Identify development needs, meet organizational and departmental requirements, maintain competency in relevant safety standards, perform other assigned duties, rotate through shifts, and float to areas of need.
