Supplier Performance Specialist

About The Position

This role involves identifying, analyzing, and developing project plans, actions, and metrics for performance improvement projects with a select group of suppliers. The specialist will perform value stream mapping, utilize Lean techniques like SIPOC for problem-solving, and manage forecast consolidation, lot size optimization, and stocking programs. A key aspect of the role is to seek and eliminate non-value-add activities, regularly interact with suppliers to address performance issues, and collaborate with materials management at various sites. The position also includes participating in planning for on-time delivery and lead time reduction projects, and assessing supplier capabilities to ensure they meet business needs. Collaboration with assigned SQE (Supplier Quality Engineer) to resolve quality issues is also a responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical, Business or other related field OR 4 years industry experience in lieu of degree
  • 5 + years of Purchasing, Materials, Engineering, Logistics or Manufacturing (exempt position) experience
  • Experience in Purchasing, Materials, Engineering, Logistics or Manufacturing (exempt position)
  • Technically proficient to collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Materials, Supply / Demand Management as well as all levels within the supplier’s organization.
  • Must be able to optimally connect with senior leadership and other cross functional teams across cultural/geographical boundaries.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% travel, including international travel.
  • Only U.S. Persons (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals as defined by 22 CFR §120) may be considered.

Responsibilities
