About The Position

Johnson Brothers, a leading family-owned distributor of wine, spirits, and beer, is seeking a National Supplier Performance Manager. This role is responsible for managing core suppliers' business planning and performance, maintaining a healthy financial position for Johnson Brothers, and acting as a liaison between suppliers and the company's branches across the U.S. The company has been delivering exceptional service since 1953 and represents top beverage brands, focusing on excellence, innovation, and growth.

Requirements

  • People management experience
  • Brand/Supplier management experience
  • Experience in Beverage Alcohol Industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills & comfortable communicating with all levels, including Senior Level Leadership
  • Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail with a high sense of urgency, initiative & proactive planning

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Supplier(s) Planning Process: Develop tactical overlays to cluster/brand strategy, engage Johnson Brothers Leadership, plan/execute pricing strategies, build target account lists, plan POS usage, and develop market execution plans with measurable goals.
  • Integrate plans to drive Transformational Priorities, including brand training.
  • Plan activity/goals against achieving brand standards.
  • Lead planning of national/local POS buys with Supplier(s).
  • Follow Supplier(s) lead on innovation planning within assigned brands, including programming, goal setting, inventory management, selling tools, kickoff meetings, training, and tracking.
  • Communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio priorities and key execution metrics across the Johnson Brothers Network to achieve internal alignment.
  • Manage Budgets: Grant/Tactical/Trade $’s/Discounts/LMF.
  • Identify and propose solutions to competitive pricing opportunities/challenges.
  • Incorporate “best practices” and other market learnings across the Network.
  • Develop and plan against creative selling opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of activities by channel, geography, customer, and brand.
  • Scorecard Performance across Johnson Brothers Network, measuring progress against the execution plan and identifying strategic gaps.
  • Measure monthly progress against achieving brand standards and goals across the network.
  • Manage Supplier(s) scorecard against innovation, on premise & other KPIs.
  • Develop business analysis for key accounts using internal tracking of goals (displays, feature ads, pricing, distribution, visibility, accounts sold, menus, drink features, etc.).
  • Lead on identified Investment Activities: Locally created POS / tactical spends / pricing.
  • Assist Supplier(s) in management of supplier(s) programming (National POS / sampling / local media / etc.).
  • Monitor and recap against pricing strategies / programs.
  • Assess Supplier(s), Brand and Category health using syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI, DISCUS, Etc.).
  • Overall Management of profitability for Supplier and Distributor.
  • Assess and monitor spend against budgets to identify risk and/or opportunities.
  • Run standard and other reports for business needs.
  • Coordinate mid-month and end-of-month business reviews across channels with Supplier(s) Leadership.
  • Coordinate quarterly business reviews and planning meetings with Supplier(s) Leadership.
  • Collaborate with Supplier to build comprehensive training programs for Johnson Brothers Sales personnel, working in conjunction with the Corporate Training Platform.
  • Ensure all Supplier and Johnson Brothers Corporate Compliance measures are in place and followed for designated portfolio(s).
  • Work with the Purchasing Department to ensure contractual obligations and asks are adhered to.
  • Maintain healthy Inventory levels for internal purposes.
  • Provide oversight to Branch forecasting using Logility.
  • Develop influential relationships with local market sales leaders (Regional Presidents, GM’s, Sales Managers, Brand Managers, Etc.).
  • Plan and Execute Market Surveys upon Supplier(s) desired cadence across Johnson Brothers Network.
