About The Position

You will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in the Weapons Sustainment Management Division, Sustainment Program Management & Analysis Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE. You will be assigned as the AIM-260 Joint Advanced Tactical Missile (JATM) Assistant Program Manager Logistics (APML). You will provide administrative and technical supervision to a team of logistics professionals, managing daily workloads, evaluating employee performance, and directing personnel development. You will serve as the principal logistics advisor and primary interface to senior leadership and external stakeholders, leading technical reviews, readiness assessments, and sustainment working groups. You will plan, justify, and execute multi-million dollar operations, maintenance, and logistics support budgets while coordinating with financial and contracting personnel to allocate resources. You will design, implement, and continuously improve product support and lifecycle sustainment strategies for major acquisition programs, overseeing maintenance planning, training, and supply chain logistics. You will direct the development and execution of critical program documentation, including Life Cycle Sustainment Plans, maintenance agreements, and technical manuals, ensuring compliance with federal policies and security regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower pay band. This requirement is called time-in-band. Time-in-band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band (NM-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Communicating complex program status, risks, and strategic initiatives clearly to Senior Leadership to facilitate executive decision-making; 2) Applying Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) testing criteria and utilizing rapid acquisition processes to streamline lifecycle logistics support, while maintaining strict oversight of budget management, financial controls, and program funding; 3) Directing personnel management operations, including leading hiring initiatives, managing manpower resource allocations, and executing comprehensive employee performance assessments; 4) Overseeing the development of product support documentation, initial maintenance training plans, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and Technical Directives to ensure system readiness; and 5) Prioritizing competing mission taskings, workloads, and operational funding to optimize organizational efficiency and project execution.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
