About The Position

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA HC/Operations Support Office. Duties include leadership, overseeing and managing a portfolio of computing and communications information products and services. The incumbent makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors and establishes priorities and schedules. They assure reasonable equity of performance standards and rating techniques developed by subordinate supervisors and reviews evaluations. Decisions are made on the application of both financial and personnel resources in support of enduring and emergent requirements. The role involves finding and implementing ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production, promoting team building and improving business practices.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 Executive Branch Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon entering the position and annually thereafter, in accordance with DoD 5500.07-R, Joint Ethics Regulation.
  • This is a covered position and the person selected for this position must complete an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment pursuant to 5 CFR 2634.903(b) (DoD 5500.7).
  • This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual.
  • This is a drug testing designated position.

  • Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
  • Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs.
  • Oral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions.
  • Experience leading teams and implementing initiatives that enhance the customer support experience and mission-partner engagement including strategic partner relations, service delivery management, team leadership, and customer experience strategy to support organizational mission objectives; OR experience utilizing service metrics and customer feedback data to monitor performance, measure support effectiveness, and provide recommendations for refining customer-centric strategies.
  • Experience in briefing senior leadership and strategic partners on support activities and service outcomes that align with business objectives.
