About The Position

This position is with the US Army Human Resources Command, located at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Duties include planning, coordinating, and executing end-to-end administrative operations for centralized military promotion, selection, and command boards, ensuring all candidate dossiers and board rosters are complete, accurate, and audit-compliant. The role involves accounting for, auditing, and maintaining official service records, performance evaluations, and restricted personnel files within specialized HR automation systems across multiple unclassified and secure networks. Responsibilities also include assigning daily workloads, establishing operational priorities, leading synchronization meetings, and monitoring milestones across civilian and military staff to ensure timely delivery of human resources board products. The specialist will advise leadership and selection board secretariats on the interpretation and execution of military human resources regulations, standard operating procedures, and qualification requirements. Additionally, the role serves as the authority for screening and clearing official personnel lists prior to public dissemination, preventing the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive or restricted personal information. Coordination of system maintenance, database enhancements, and secure cross-network data transfers is also required, along with providing periodic personnel strength queries and reporting directly to executive stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period may be required.
  • A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
  • One year of specialized experience which includes preparing official personnel qualification records and candidate packages for competitive selection, promotion, or executive development boards.
  • One year of specialized experience managing sensitive personnel records within electronic human resources information systems, such as: iPERMS, ASBS 2.0, IPPS-A to ensure data accuracy and system security.
  • One year of specialized experience overseeing team assignments, priorities, and/or human resources deliverables to meet operational deadlines.
  • Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
  • Must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
