About The Position

This is a Military Technician position with the 76th United States Army Reserve Operational Response Command, G1 Personnel Office located at Bluffdale, Utah. Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
  • One year of specialized experience which includes 1) reviewing regulations and policies to coordinate military personnel programs; 2) providing guidance on military personnel matters; and 3) analyzing, developing and recommending solutions to identified military personnel problems.
  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources or Business Administration.
  • A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
  • Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This position requires a 1 year probationary period or 2 year-trial period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
  • New Army Reserve Military Technicians may be authorized moving expenses to their first official duty station.
  • To be eligible to receive moving expenses, you must be a newly appointed Federal civilian employee or have a minimum of a 3-day break in service from previous Federal civilian employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide military personnel management support within the area of operations.
  • Coordinate various military personnel management programs for organization.
  • Manage personnel actions in accordance with policies and regulations.
  • Review requirements related to personnel management function to recommend courses of action.
  • Analyze, validate and report unit readiness metrics to Command leadership.
  • Utilize automated programs to analyze a variety of data for reports.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance on personnel management activities to staff.
