About The Position

Marana Health is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join the Human Resources team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for administering the employee change process, maintaining and managing employee data, ensuring accuracy and integrity of personnel records and actions, and supporting and improving HR workflow efficiency. Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 11 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Requirements

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • 2 years’ experience in Human Resources field, to include employee onboarding, change management or management of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) processes
  • Current Arizona driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by MH)
  • Must be approved for, and maintain, a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS), pursuant to A.R.S. § 36-411.
  • Ability to resolve issues and escalate when appropriate by utilizing knowledge of established policies and procedures, internal process guides, and external resources.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results on time with attention to detail.
  • Ability to self-audit work for accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, research, analyze, create, and update detailed processes, reports, audits, and workflows.
  • Ability to implement and enforce timelines to streamline employee processes.
  • Knowledge of HR policy design and compliance with relevant federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills with emphasis on responsiveness, building trust, mutual respect, and courtesy.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Human Resources staff, leadership, and internal partners to support operational needs while exercising sound judgment, discretion, and adherence to established authority structures.

Responsibilities

  • Administers process for transitioning employees with a focus on time-to-change, manager satisfaction, employee retention, and employee experience.
  • Maintains continuous communication with managers and leadership as related to employee transitions and off-boarding.
  • Assesses and evaluates employee change processes, employment requirements, and promotional verification processes for efficiency and effectiveness and makes recommendations for workflow improvements.
  • Coordinates administrative aspects of onboarding and transitioning employees.
  • Manages employee access to HR systems and technology.
  • Obtains and tracks employee documents and schedules and coordinates appointments related to employment.
  • Creates employee files and folders in HRIS.
  • Obtains, scans, and uploads HR documents according to established procedures, and follows the naming criteria for employee documents within HRIS.
  • Performs routine administrative duties for HR department (employee ID badges, photos, faxes, verification of employment, phone triage, purchase orders, and procurement of office supplies).
  • Researches, evaluates, and makes recommendations for HR service vendors and products.
  • Develops and supports HR process improvements.
  • Oversees and administers the HR document management process for physical and electronic employee records.
  • Provides management, employees, and HR staff with guidance and support to successfully navigate organizational processes and to enhance the employee experience.
  • Provides individualized guidance to staff regarding policies and procedures, including use of HRIS.
  • Generates reports on a recurring and as-requested basis.
  • Provides administrative and collaborative support to HR team in areas of HR administration, recruiting, benefits, leaves of absence, employee relations, and compensation.
  • Oversees and manages employee compliance with Fingerprint Clearance Card requirements, updates personnel file with associated documents, coordinates payment of associated charges, and monitors clearances that are expired or otherwise out of compliance.
  • Prepares and maintains Human Resources records and reports to support internal audits, regulatory reviews, and operational reporting requirements.
  • Advises on, reviews, and submits purchasing order requests for the Human Resources department, including renewals of standing purchasing orders and check requests required for vendor payment. Develops, reviews, updates and implements programs and policy proposals.
  • Drafts, maintains, and updates Human Resources templates, communications, and procedural documentation to support consistent application of policies and processes.
  • Supports HRIS processes with access, workflow management, and ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across employee records and transactions.
  • Serves as a trusted operational resource to managers, employees, and Human Resources staff by providing accurate information, process guidance, and compliance support within established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains working knowledge of all functional areas of Human Resources.
  • Adheres to strict confidentiality policies.
