About The Position

This is a National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service position. As a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST, GS-0201-09, you will plan, organize, and oversee the full complement of activities within the State Air National Guard Headquarters administrative and personnel programs. You will oversee State ANG Headquarters programs to facilitate the commander's vision, and manage workflow and tasking to ensure personnel and administrative processes are completed as required. This role involves reviewing organization mission, functions, and manning requirements, identifying needs, and initiating requests for additional resources such as equipment and supplies to meet goals. You will also establish metrics and analysis systems to ensure timely processing, measurement, and review of actions at critical points, and perform self-inspections, presenting detailed reports with corrective actions to your supervisor. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • The incumbent of this position description must have, at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
  • Irregular and overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
  • Position designated Essential Personnel, may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, state emergency/ disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within a year of appointment.
  • May require travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance designated at the State through the use of the Position Designation Tool.
  • The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, and an appropriate valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have the skills that demonstrate you have the ability to: Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work.
  • SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade with knowledge that encompasses human resources program's business competencies, familiarity with the subject matter or processes used in human resources programs associated with DoD, U.S. Army, or U.S. Air Force.
