This position oversees all aspects of cleaning for assigned areas, trains employees in proper cleaning procedures, and acts as a mentor to newly hired custodians. The Supervisor assigns general cleaning, maintenance, and floor care duties, ensuring all work is performed to contract specifications or company directives. They are responsible for responding promptly to calls or messages from the project manager, ensuring work follows quality control guidelines, and inspecting scheduled work. The Supervisor maintains daily logs of cleaning discrepancies, signs inspection reports, and ensures completion of special cleaning requests. They also oversee work schedules, maintain time and attendance records, verify leave requests, and ensure compliance with dress code and personal hygiene standards. Safety is a key responsibility, including implementing and ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures for themselves and their staff. They assist in maintaining SDS books and chemical lists, report malfunctioning fixtures and necessary building repairs, and complete time studies and appraisals. The Supervisor evaluates, disciplines, supervises, and provides feedback to assigned staff, inventories and orders supplies with approval, and ensures proper care and maintenance of equipment. They also perform cleaning and maintenance tasks as assigned and must pass and comply with CPR/First Aid training and OSHA training. Attending meetings and training programs and relating information to employees is also required, along with regular attendance and remaining on-site for the scheduled shift. This position is designated as essential personnel, meaning they may be required to remain at or report to work during institutional emergencies to protect, recover, and continue operations.
