Lead and develop a team of Underwriting Support Specialists who are responsible for quoting and processing of new business, renewals, endorsements, and premium audit transactions. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Leadership ability with a focus on integrity and fairness
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be a change-agent
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in the use of Excel and Word programs

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • 2 years of USS or Underwriting experience
  • Coursework in INS series and/or CPCU

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage a team of Underwriting Support Specialists (USS)
  • Establish measurable performance goals and hold associates accountable for results
  • Foster and maintain an effective and positive team environment
  • Create, document and maintain standardized operating procedures
  • Handle and resolve staff and technical problems quickly and effectively
  • Identify training opportunities and provide a means for the training
  • Support process improvements by identifying performance and efficiency issues, researching the issues, and providing solid resolutions
  • Maintain strong relationships and communication with Underwriting and other USS teams
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
