About The Position

Our employer partner, a leading non-profit organization committed to building welcoming and equitable communities for immigrants, refugees, and equity-deserving groups in the GTA, is currently looking to add an experienced Supervisor, Partnerships & Events to their team! This role plays a key leadership role in the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic events, partnership initiatives, trade show participation, donor-facing activations, and fundraising-related engagements that elevate the organization’s profile, partnerships, and growth opportunities. The role supports the organization’s event and partnership goals by leading the execution of high-impact experiences including conferences, networking events, trade shows, employer events, community showcases, fundraising initiatives, and signature campaigns. The Supervisor will also contribute to growing and activating funding opportunities connected to initiatives and other organizational campaigns that strengthen visibility, engagement, and long-term resource development. The successful candidate will bring a balance of event operations, partner engagement and stewardship, marketing coordination, and revenue-minded thinking. They will work closely with internal teams, community partners, funders, vendors, and corporate partners to ensure that events and activations are well-executed, brand-aligned, and contribute to broader organizational goals. This employer is seeking a dynamic and organized professional to supervise corporate partnerships and event initiatives that increase community engagement, strengthen external engagement, and support fund development and brand visibility goals. This role will oversee the execution of a wide range of in-person, hybrid, and virtual events, while helping identify, coordinate, and maintain funding opportunities tied to organizational priorities. The Supervisor will play an important role in supporting initiatives such as partnership activations, fundraising events and donor engagement opportunities, conferences, trade shows, and expos, employer and sector networking events, campaign-related activations connected to the organization’s event website and related outreach initiatives, promotional and brand visibility opportunities that position Skills for Change as a leader in the sector, and cross-collaboration with internal teams on events and activations. This position requires someone who is highly collaborative, detail-oriented, strategic, and comfortable managing multiple moving priorities while maintaining strong relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in events, partnership building, fundraising support, or external relations, preferably within a non-profit, community, or public-facing environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Fundraising, Business, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and delivering in-person, virtual, and hybrid events of varying sizes and complexity.
  • Strong experience working with sponsors, partners, exhibitors, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of partner fulfillment, engagement, event promotion, and brand visibility strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail, timelines, and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and coordination skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM or tracking systems, event platforms, and digital tools relevant to event planning and outreach.
  • Experience working collaboratively across departments, including programs, communications, partnerships, and leadership teams.
  • Commitment to the mission, values, and equity-centered approach of the organization.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Completion of a clear vulnerable sector check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting fundraising events, donor engagement initiatives, or revenue-generating activations is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of website-based campaigns, digital engagement strategies, and promotional coordination is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of funding-related events, conferences, trade shows, fundraisers, networking events, and community activations.
  • Coordinate all event logistics from concept to completion, including timelines, run of show, registration, vendors, venue coordination, staffing, materials, and post-event follow-up.
  • Support the development and implementation of partnership strategies that help secure and steward partners for events, campaigns, and organizational initiatives.
  • Manage partner deliverables and benefits, ensuring timely fulfillment of visibility, branding, recognition, and engagement commitments.
  • Support initiatives connected to the organization’s events website, including campaign activations, event promotion, audience engagement, and partnership visibility opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to increase the organization's presence through trade shows, industry events, community fairs, employer events, and strategic external forums.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with sponsors, funders, corporate partners, community organizations, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to support the promotion of events, sponsorship assets, digital campaigns, and audience outreach plans.
  • Collaborate with internal program teams to determine event and funding needs and align activations to program deliverables.
  • Contribute to fundraising event planning by supporting outreach, guest experience, event coordination, and donor/stakeholder engagement.
  • Prepare event briefs, planning documents, budgets, invoices, trackers, and post-event reports.
  • Monitor budgets and ensure events activations are delivered effectively and within approved financial parameters.
  • Supervise event support staff, contractors, volunteers, or interns as required, providing guidance and coordination to ensure strong execution.
  • Evaluate event outcomes, funder engagement, and audience participation to inform future improvements and opportunities.
  • Ensure all activities reflect the organization’s mission, values, brand standards, and commitment to equity, inclusion, and community impact.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
