About The Position

The Supervisor, Food Services II supervises and coordinates food distribution and service activities on all units, ensuring they are maintained properly. The position also performs related tasks in accordance with standard policies and procedures. This role directs and monitors dishwashing and cleaning operations, food-service workflow in unit dining areas, and the scheduling and assignment of dietary aides and cafeteria servers. The supervisor helps maintain department equipment and supplies, maintains required records and reports, and supports staff orientation, training, and performance evaluation. The position is listed for an evening shift, 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with every other weekend. The posting also states “8hrs/wk.”

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
3–5 years of experience as a Food Service Worker.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Interpersonal, written, and organizational skills.
Personal computer skills.

Responsibilities

Direct dishwashing and cleaning operations, and perform or delegate tray stripping, dishwasher loading and operation, pot and pan washing, and cleaning of kitchen, production, service, and cleaning equipment.
Monitor workflow through the dishwasher operations and address bottlenecks or overloads.
Direct and monitor workflow in unit dining areas, including tray assembly, serving, loading, and distribution.
Schedule dietary aides and cafeteria servers.
Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Maintain required department records, reports, and files.
Assign personnel to workstations according to schedules; orient, train, and evaluate staff performance; and make recommendations regarding personnel actions.
Attend meetings as required and participate in in-service programs.
