About The Position

The County of San Diego, Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) is currently recruiting for the position of Supervising Nurse. This role provides professional, specialized nursing care to adult patients in an acute or post-acute setting and serves as a second-level supervisor and first-level manager in the nursing series. The Supervising Nurse will provide direction and leadership to nursing personnel across all shifts within a specific facility location to ensure an adequate standard of care. This position may act in the absence of the Assistant Director of Nursing or Director of Nursing. Future salary increases are planned for June 2026 (5.67%) and June 2027 (5.17%). Additional pay incentives and premiums may be available, and relocation allowance up to $8,000 may be offered. Positions are located at the Edgemoor Distinct Part Skilled Nursing Facility (DP/SNF) and the San Diego County Psychiatric Hospital (SDCPH). Requirements

  • A valid Registered Nurse license issued by the State of California.
  • Current CPR card required at the time of appointment, which must be maintained throughout employment.
  • A valid National Provider Identification Number (NPI) required at the time of employment, which must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Four (4) years of registered nursing experience.
  • At least one (1) year of registered nursing experience must have been in a long term care, rehabilitation, geriatric and/or psychiatric nursing facility.
  • At least one (1) year of registered nursing experience must have been in nursing management.
