About The Position

This position is accountable for outpatient pharmacy services requiring pharmaceutical education, state licensure, leadership experience, and extensive clinical and professional judgment. The pharmacist reviews medication orders for appropriateness, fills medication orders, monitors patient medication therapies, provides drug information, and supervises and directs support personnel. Duties are performed according to departmental policies and procedures and as scheduled by supervisory staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.
• New York State Pharmacist License and current registration.
• Minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute.
• Computer skills.
• Excellent mathematical ability, attention to detail, concentration, and alertness.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and demonstrate good time management.
• Ability to safely handle medications.
• Professional and respectful oral communication with co-workers, patients, outside vendors, and other health care affiliates.
• Ability to multitask, work independently, and engage in teamwork.
• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Willingness to train and to give and receive instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Previous institutional retail experience is helpful but not required.
• Five years of experience as a Registered Pharmacist is desirable.
