About The Position

Laboratoires Confab Inc. is seeking a production supervisor for the weekend shift. The VMS supervisor works under the supervision of the VMS Director and in close collaboration with other members of the management team. The production supervisor is primarily responsible for ensuring the efficiency of production, bottling, and packaging. Additionally, they will continuously seek ways to overcome obstacles to improve systems, procedures, productivity, quality, service level, safety, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science, combined with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment or related field – or equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Good internal customer approach, team-oriented, and demonstrates a high level of autonomy.
  • Excellent communication skills; immediately report problems to directors and identify solutions as a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Master MS Office suite software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Possess experience in personnel management, solid knowledge of GMP, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, cost-consciousness, teamwork, productivity, safety, and security orientation, as well as strong leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Good knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations (an important asset).
  • Experience in continuous improvement, 5S, Kaizen, etc.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a management position.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all stages of the process associated with the manufacturing, bottling, and packaging of gummies on their shift.
  • Achieve work efficiency objectives concerning production and bottling.
  • Establish a safe work environment and ensure all dangerous situations are handled according to the company's Health and Safety policy.
  • Report and resolve non-conformities.
  • Prepare daily and weekly production and bottling reports and send information to the management team.
  • Responsible for managing training and skill development for all employees under your responsibility.
  • Approve electronic timesheets for payroll and make all necessary corrections.
  • Ensure quality standards, manufacturing practices, food hygiene and safety policies, and company rules are respected at all times.
  • Demonstrate genuine concern for the health and safety of everyone, including yourself, but especially new employees.
  • Work safely and respect HSE procedures (Lockout, etc.).
  • Communicate effectively with employees at all levels to ensure performance objectives are understood.
  • Demonstrate good teamwork and become a leader in improving daily responsibilities.
  • Direct the tasks of team members.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees (welcome and integration).
  • Stimulate team motivation to improve productivity.
  • Supervise/update daily production records to ensure accuracy, in accordance with SCN BestCo's standard operating procedures.
  • Design and monitor team schedules.
  • Supervise daily operations of the assigned sector (planning, scheduling, workforce allocation, etc.).
  • Delegate tasks and set deadlines while providing feedback on completed tasks.
  • Listen to feedback from team members and resolve/report any issues or conflicts.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and management.
  • Propose personnel management measures (salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, dismissals).
  • Communicate personnel management measures to the team after approval from human resources and the department head.
