About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repairs to refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets in Walmart facilities. The role uses commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete work. Technicians receive and document repair work orders, respond to emergency maintenance calls, and inspect, operate, or test equipment and fixtures to diagnose issues. The position requires completing safety training and following applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and Walmart safety and environmental guidelines.

The role involves physical work, including lifting up to 75 pounds, frequently moving up and down ladders, and working at heights. Walmart provides a work vehicle and tools. The posted salary range is $56,160–$106,080, with a $2,000 sign-on bonus available in select locations. Compensation may vary based on candidate-specific factors, and the role is eligible for bonus incentives.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large-scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I, Type II, or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• A valid state-issued driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record report.
• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, frequently move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and appropriate tools and equipment.
• Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders supporting stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and the practices and procedures in Walmart's refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
