About The Position

Garney is hiring a Superintendent to lead water and wastewater construction work. The role involves providing jobsite leadership, applying construction knowledge, and overseeing project execution, safety, quality, schedules, labor, subcontractors, and field personnel. The position also includes work on plant disinfection and testing.

Requirements

At least 8 years of heavy construction experience, including at least 3 years in a superintendent role on similar work.
Knowledge of water, wastewater, and pipeline construction.
Self-starter who is highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to identify and resolve problems that may arise.
Strong leadership, safety, and planning experience.
Competent Person.
Can-do attitude.

Experience with ASTA, Primavera, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

Establish site safety expectations and maintain jobsite safety.
Create look-ahead schedules and monitor and assist with updating the CPM schedule.
Apply knowledge across all phases of construction and coordinate with project management.
Review job costs and manage labor quantities.
Review shop drawings and provide feedback.
Recognize and initiate RFIs and change orders.
Develop project means and methods.
Oversee quality control.
Manage subcontractors, layout, and field engineers.
Hire, develop, and train craftsmen and foremen.
Manage direct labor issues.
Perform disinfection and testing work on plant projects.
