About The Position

This position is part of Voya Investment Management (Voya IM) and its Summer Student Program. It offers a student the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the investment management industry while working alongside professionals across the Voya IM organization. The summer student will gain exposure to a variety of legal matters, primarily investment advisory contracts, regulatory filings, corporate governance, and general support of attorneys on the Legal team.

The role is based in Voya's Atlanta office, with expected onsite presence on average up to three days per week to support team and business priorities. The position provides opportunities to collaborate with attorneys and colleagues, contribute accurate legal work, and use available technology, including automation and AI tools, in support of legal research and document review.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Currently attending law school and pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Familiarity with document review techniques, including analysis of contract terms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Interest in investments, securities law, and related regulatory matters.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing and drafting regulatory filings.
• Conduct legal research and assist with drafting legal memoranda.
• Draft materials related to Board and Committee meetings, including memoranda, resolutions, and minutes.
• Review and draft contracts related to Voya IM’s investment advisory activities.
• Perform legal research and analysis to support the Legal team.
• Provide general support to attorneys and assist with other duties as assigned.
