About The Position

Reata Engineering & Machine Works is launching our 2026 Summer Internship Program, designed for students interested in pursuing a career in advanced manufacturing. This is an 8-week, hands-on program where interns will gain real-world experience in CNC machining, engineering, and production within a fast-paced, high-tech job shop environment. We are looking to hire 2–3 interns total across engineering and shop roles. Interns will work directly with our production and engineering teams, gaining hands-on experience with CNC machining processes, shop operations, and real customer-driven work. This is not a shadowing program—interns will contribute to actual production and improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program: Advanced Manufacturing, CNC Machining, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Machining program at CCIC
  • Basic understanding of CNC machining and/or CAD/CAM software preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • For those currently enrolled, we are only considering Juniors & Seniors

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines under supervision (shop interns)
  • Assist with programming, setup, and process improvements
  • Support engineering and production teams on active jobs
  • Participate in quality control and inspection processes
  • Learn materials, tooling, and machining strategies
  • Troubleshoot issues and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
  • Follow all safety and quality standards (AS9100, aerospace/medical requirements)
