About The Position
Weaver Consultants Group is seeking Summer Interns to perform landfill construction quality assurance work at client sites across the country. This is primarily a field position involving travel and extended overnight stays, including weekends. Assignments may require working six to seven days per week, and travel expenses for out-of-town assignments are covered. On-site job training will be provided as needed. Interns may also assist with landfill design work. The role is intended for someone who wants to develop skills in a fast-paced, challenging, collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.
- Microsoft Office skills are required.
- Willingness to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Flexible schedule and ability to travel out of town for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license; passing a motor vehicle review (MVR) and drug screening are required.
Nice To Haves
- AutoCAD skills are desired.
- A soils mechanics class with laboratory is desired.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and document construction activities at solid waste landfill facilities, including field inspection and testing of soils and geosynthetic liners.
- Document compliance with applicable project specifications and construction drawings.
- Manage, review, and organize daily project data.
- Prepare final certification reports.
- Assist with landfill design activities, including preparing construction drawings and project documents and specifications, and performing quantity calculations.
