About The Position
Weaver Consultants Group is seeking Summer Interns to perform landfill construction quality assurance work at key client sites across the country. This is primarily a field position involving travel and extended out-of-town assignments, including overnight hotel stays and workweeks of 6–7 days. Travel expenses for out-of-town assignments are covered. On-site training will be provided as necessary. The role offers practical experience with landfill construction quality assurance and design activities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.
- Microsoft Office computer skills.
- Willingness to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Flexible schedule and ability to travel out of town for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a motor vehicle review (MVR) and drug screening.
Nice To Haves
- AutoCAD skills.
- Soils mechanics class with laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and document construction activities at solid waste landfill facilities, including field inspection and testing of soils and geosynthetic liners.
- Document compliance with applicable project specifications and construction drawings.
- Manage, review, and organize daily project data.
- Prepare final certification reports.
- Assist with landfill design activities, including preparing construction drawings and project documents and specifications, and performing quantity calculations.
