About The Position

AIG is seeking Summer Interns for the Claims department to contribute to the transformation of how customers manage risk. This 9-week program offers hands-on experience, industry knowledge, and opportunities to work on dynamic projects with leaders in a fast-moving, global insurance company. Interns will gain core technical knowledge and professional skills in a diverse environment, participate in instructor-led masterclasses, hear from senior leaders, and build connections through mentoring, networking, and volunteering. Following the program, interns may be considered for a role in the location where they completed their internship, with the Analyst program beginning in July 2028.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree to be received no later than June 2028 (unofficial transcript required upon application).
  • Available for the complete Summer Internship Program from June 7 through August 6, 2027.
  • Summer Intern positions are in-person opportunities, requiring interns to work in the office at least four days per week.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of claims while collaborating with underwriters, actuaries, legal, HR, and operations teams.
  • Analyze claims and operational data to identify trends, improve processes, and enhance customer experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key business stakeholders to support business objectives and project execution.
  • Monitor claims activity, respond to customer inquiries, and help ensure accurate payments, appropriate reserving, and effective cost management.
  • Contribute to operational excellence by promoting consistency and claims best practices across the organization.
  • Gain exposure to a variety of Claims disciplines, including Claims Adjusting & Examining, Claims Administration & Analytics, Fraud & Recovery, Claims Account Relationship Management, and Claims Operations.
