About The Position

AIG is seeking Summer Interns for the Claims department, offering an opportunity to contribute to the transformation of how customers manage risk. This program provides valuable hands-on experience, insurance industry knowledge, and professional development within a global insurance company. Interns will work on dynamic projects, participate in instructor-led masterclasses, interact with senior leaders, and build connections through mentoring and networking. The internship is a 9-week program, with potential consideration for future roles. The Claims teams are problem solvers for clients, delivering technical excellence and a superior claims handling experience through responsive, fair, and professional service. For those with legal degrees, this internship allows them to apply their Juris Doctor to diverse and challenging matters across all industries and lines of business. Interns will learn to manage litigation from complaint filing through appeals, including claim evaluation, litigation oversight, case evaluation, trial reporting, resolution negotiation, and senior management presentations.

Requirements

  • Candidate for a JD degree to be received no later than June 2028.
  • Available for the complete Summer Internship Program from June 7 through August 6, 2027.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement.
  • Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiastic about a career in litigation.
  • Strong analytical thinkers and creative problem solvers with an interest in litigation.
  • Proven success working as part of a team.
  • A powerful blend of legal acumen, analytical abilities, and communication skills.
  • Excited to learn and grow litigation acumen with hands-on experience working with outside counsel for optimal claims resolutions.
