About The Position

The Summer Financial Analyst will join Houlihan Lokey’s U.S. Private Capital Markets & Advisory team in Chicago. The team provides capital-raising services across industries and capital needs, working with private equity-backed, public, family-owned, and management-owned businesses. It offers structure-agnostic financing solutions across the capital structure, drawing on relationships with private credit funds, mezzanine debt and structured equity funds, pension funds, insurance companies, family offices, and special situations investors. Private Capital Markets transactions involve stages similar to M&A processes, including preparing marketing materials such as a confidential information memorandum and three-statement financial model, leading counterparty diligence, coordinating management meetings, and structuring and negotiating financing through closing. Summer Financial Analysts work alongside full-time professionals on live deals and develop cash flow and three-statement modeling proficiency, organizational skills and experience running investor outreach, and an understanding of capital structure and private credit and private equity markets. Deal types include acquisition financing for leveraged buyouts, dividend recapitalizations, refinancings, growth capital, and distressed and special situations.
