Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of age.
  • Must be a student who is returning to school in September.
  • This position is required from June until first week of September.
  • Able to work between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday-Friday during length of contract.
  • Excellent customer service and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a recreational setting.
  • Valid Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificate or willing to obtain prior to employment.
  • High Five - Principles of Healthy Child Development certificate or willing to obtain prior to employment.
  • Due to the nature of this position, a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town will be required. Those 16 years and younger will be required to complete a Declaration of Minors – Working with Vulnerable Individuals Self Declaration Form upon hire.
  • Ability to work and travel to any Town of East Gwillimbury facility for scheduled hours.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the implementation of a safe, enjoyable and engaging camp program.
  • Fostering a positive relationship with campers, staff and /guardians.
  • Maintaining positive communication between staff, volunteers, campers & guardians.
  • Responding to inquiries and provide quality customer service to participants, guardians, and general public.
  • Respond to emergency situations including performing minor first aid and/or arranging for medical assistance.
