2028 Summer Associate Program - Real Estate - Houston
About The Position
Seyfarth is seeking 2Ls to join its 2028 Summer Program as a Summer Associate in the Real Estate department in the Houston office. The program combines a department-specific curriculum with practical experience on real client matters. Summer Associates work closely with partners and receive individualized feedback and coaching from partner and associate mentors. They are assigned to a specific department for the summer while also having opportunities to meet and engage with attorneys across the firm. The program includes substantive legal seminars and training in ethics, client service, marketing, legal writing, communication, and finance. Summer Associates may attend depositions, court appearances, closings, and client meetings, and work on active cases and client projects. Applicants should submit a resume, cover letter, undergraduate transcript, law school transcript when available, and a writing sample.
Requirements
- Complete one year of law school by spring 2027 and expect to receive a JD in May 2029.
- Demonstrate academic achievement.
- Show an appreciation for collaboration and teamwork.
- Demonstrate a clear interest in Real Estate through coursework, certificate programs, or prior work experience.
Responsibilities
- Work on actual client cases and projects.
- Attend client meetings.
- Shadow attorneys on a variety of deals and cases for hands-on learning.
- Participate in a specialized curriculum and training, including substantive legal seminars and instruction in ethics, client service, marketing, legal writing, communication, and finance.
