About The Position

Seyfarth is hiring a 2028 Summer Associate to work in its Real Estate department at the Los Angeles–Downtown office. The program is designed for second-year law students and combines practical legal work with structured education and professional development. Summer Associates are assigned to one department for the entire summer, working closely with Seyfarth partners and receiving individualized feedback and coaching from partner and associate mentors. They also have opportunities to connect with attorneys across departments and offices. Summer Associates work on actual client matters and projects, attend client meetings, and shadow attorneys on deals and cases. The program includes a specialized curriculum with substantive legal seminars, training in ethics, client service, marketing, legal writing, communication, and finance, as well as practical opportunities to attend depositions, court appearances, and closings. Applicants should submit a resume, cover letter, undergraduate transcript, law school transcript when available, and a writing sample. The position is based in Los Angeles, California, and is marked hybrid. Compensation is based on an annualized salary of $225,000.

Requirements

Complete one year of law school by spring 2027.
Expect to receive a JD in May 2029.
Demonstrate academic achievement.
Show an appreciation for collaboration and teamwork.
Have a clear interest in Real Estate, evidenced by coursework, certificate programs, or prior work experience.

Responsibilities
