About The Position

Seyfarth is hiring a 2028 Summer Associate to join its Labor & Employment department in the Los Angeles–Downtown office. The program offers a specialized curriculum and practical learning opportunities that connect law school education with legal practice. Summer Associates are assigned to a specific department for the entire summer and work closely with partners, with partner and associate mentors providing individualized feedback and coaching. They also have opportunities to meet and engage with attorneys across departments and throughout the firm. Summer Associates work on real client matters, including cases and projects, attend client meetings, and shadow attorneys on a variety of deals and cases. The program also provides substantive legal seminars and training in ethics, client service, marketing, legal writing, communication, and finance, as well as opportunities to attend depositions, court appearances, and closings. Applicants should submit a resume, cover letter, undergraduate transcript, law school transcript when available, and a writing sample. The position is based in Los Angeles, California. Compensation is based on an annualized salary of $225,000.

Requirements

Complete one year of law school by spring 2026 and expect to receive a JD in May 2028.
Demonstrated academic achievement.
Appreciation for collaboration and teamwork.
Clear interest in Labor & Employment, evidenced by coursework, certificate programs, or prior work experience.

Responsibilities

Work on actual client cases and projects.
Attend client meetings.
Shadow attorneys on a variety of deals and cases for hands-on learning.
Participate in specialized training, including substantive legal seminars and training in ethics, client service, marketing, legal writing, communication, and finance.
Attend practical learning activities such as depositions, court appearances, and closings.
