About The Position

Seyfarth is hiring a 2028 Summer Associate for its Real Estate department in the Chicago office. The program is designed for students who will have completed one year of law school by spring 2027 and expect to earn a JD in May 2029. Summer Associates are assigned to a specific department for the summer, enabling focused experience and deeper exposure to the practice area. They work with Seyfarth attorneys on client matters and receive individualized feedback and coaching from partner and associate mentors. The program combines practical work with a specialized educational curriculum and opportunities to engage with attorneys across departments and offices. Summer Associates gain experience through active client cases and projects, client meetings, and attorney shadowing on deals and cases. The program also offers substantive legal seminars and training in ethics, client service, marketing, legal writing, communication, and finance. Practical learning opportunities may include attending depositions, court appearances, and closings. The role is based in Chicago, Illinois. Compensation is based on an annualized salary of $225,000.

Requirements

Complete one year of law school by spring 2027.
Expect to receive a JD in May 2029.
Demonstrate academic achievement.
Show an appreciation for collaboration and teamwork.
Have a clear interest in Real Estate, evidenced by coursework, certificate programs, or prior work experience.
Submit a resume, cover letter, undergraduate transcript, law school transcript when available, and writing sample.

Responsibilities
