About The Position

Success Coaches are catalysts for change. As a full-time member of our post-secondary career training program, the Success Coach inspires, supports, and empowers individuals as they prepare for meaningful careers and brighter futures. In partnership with the Skill Instructor and Career Coach, the Success Coach helps lead the trainee experience by fostering engagement, building confidence, and removing obstacles that stand in the way of success. From connecting trainees with critical community resources to facilitating interactive employability and life skills workshops, Success Coaches create opportunities for growth both inside and outside the classroom. Through personalized coaching and family centered, holistic, service planning, Success Coaches help trainees navigate challenges, strengthen their personal and professional skills, and stay on track toward graduation and employment. Requirements

  • Passion for supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and a strong belief in every person's ability to achieve self-sufficiency, career success, and personal growth.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and foster meaningful relationships with trainees, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of community resources and support systems, with the ability to connect individuals to services that reduce barriers and promote long-term stability and success.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges facing underserved populations and a commitment to expanding access to education, employment, and economic mobility opportunities.
  • Experience in workforce development, adult education, human services, coaching, case management, community engagement, or related fields preferred.
  • Previous nonprofit experience is a plus, particularly in roles focused on education, employment, coaching, supportive services, or community impact.
  • Strong technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and navigate multiple databases, tracking systems, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and timely documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also exercising initiative, sound judgment, and independent decision-making.
  • Adaptability, resilience, and flexibility in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where priorities and needs may evolve quickly.
  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, service providers, employers, and other stakeholders to expand opportunities and resources for trainees.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, problem-solving, and helping individuals overcome barriers to achieve their educational and employment goals.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the community to support trainee engagement, outreach efforts, home visits, and partnership development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusting, professional relationships that inspire confidence, growth, and persistence.
  • Provide individualized coaching and support to help trainees overcome personal, educational, and employment-related barriers.
  • Partner with trainees to create and implement personalized success plans that promote long-term career and life success.
  • Facilitate dynamic workshops, group activities, and one-on-one coaching focused on employability, life skills, professional development, and digital literacy.
  • Develop and deliver engaging instructional content that supports trainee growth and workforce success.
  • Integrate hands-on, applied learning experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world career opportunities.
  • Provide tutoring and academic support to help trainees master new skills and prepare for industry-recognized certifications.
  • Monitor attendance and maintain daily communication with absent trainees through outreach calls and follow-up support.
  • Conduct home visits when appropriate to re-engage trainees and address barriers to participation.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate trainee status with the instructional team.
  • Partner with Skill Instructors, Career Coaches, and other team members to support trainee progress and achievement.
  • Participate in collaborative case management meetings, action teams, staff meetings, and trainee progress reviews.
  • Assist in curriculum development, assignment evaluation, individualized work planning, and continuous program improvement efforts.
  • Cultivate relationships with community organizations, service providers, and caseworkers to expand resources available to trainees.
  • Connect trainees with community supports that strengthen their ability to succeed in training and employment.
  • Represent Brighton Center and CET at community events and actively promote awareness of Workforce Development programs and services.
  • Track trainee progress, outcomes, and program data using multiple databases and reporting systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and provide progress updates to internal and external partners as needed.
  • Use data to support continuous improvement efforts and ensure trainees remain on track toward graduation and employment.
  • Serve as a coach, advocate, and champion for individuals working toward a better future.
  • Help trainees build the skills, confidence, and connections needed to transform opportunities into careers and careers into meaningful futures.
