About The Position

All Hallows Academy is seeking a Substitute Teacher (on call) to adhere to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher, follow procedures and achieve lesson goals, assign and explain homework, and oversee students outside of the classroom. The substitute teacher will also comply with all school regulations and policies, take attendance and document daily notes, ensure the classroom is kept clean and orderly, oversee normal classroom rhythms and activities, and compile a report for the teacher for when they return. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred)
Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy
Possess a cleared California multiple subject teaching credential (preferred)
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree
Clear criminal background check (a clear Livescan for the Diocese of San Diego is a condition of employment)
Experience teaching in an elementary school classroom
Positive professional references and recommendations

Responsibilities

Adhere to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher.
Follow procedures and achieve lesson goals.
Assign and explain homework.
Oversee students outside of the classroom including in the hallways and cafeteria.
Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times.
Take attendance and document daily notes.
Ensure classroom is kept clean and orderly.
Oversee the normal classroom rhythms and activities.
Compile a report for the teacher for when he/she returns.
Other duties as assigned.
