Kokua Education is hiring substitute teachers in Antioch and the surrounding Nashville area for the 2026–27 school year. Substitute teachers work in K–12 schools, cover lesson plans, and serve as positive role models who help students see what is possible. The role offers flexible scheduling: teachers choose assignments and may work up to five days per week, with a stated minimum of three days per week. Assignments may include daily and long-term positions, and teachers may be asked to help with lunch or recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and test proctoring. Pay is $171 per day for daily positions and $206 per day for long-term positions, with weekly paychecks and W-2 employment. Kokua says it provides support daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., free professional development, and a path to permanent roles at high-performing K–12 schools. Applicants must pass state and federal background checks; the costs are reimbursed after 10 assignments. The company participates in E-Verify for employment eligibility verification in Tennessee.
