About The Position

The Goddard School is hiring a Substitute Teacher to support children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. The position involves assisting with age-appropriate lessons, supporting children’s development, maintaining a safe and clean classroom, supervising children, communicating with parents, following health and safety guidelines, and helping with routine childcare tasks. Days and hours vary.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Empathy and compassion for young children.
• Ability to work productively without supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with handling children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure classroom safety and cleanliness.
• Supervise children and provide individualized support.
• Assist in communicating with parents about their child’s progress and activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines.
• Support routine childcare tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.
