About The Position

LifeWise substitute teachers demonstrate Biblical knowledge and teaching abilities while teaching LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis. The role involves implementing lesson plans using the curriculum provided by the teacher, maintaining a safe and stimulating classroom, following program policies and discipline procedures, keeping attendance records, and communicating with teachers and volunteers. Candidates should have a mature personal Christian faith aligned with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith and actively participate in a local church with aligned doctrine.

Requirements

• Have a mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Actively participate in and be committed to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Demonstrate Biblical knowledge and teaching abilities.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be caring, perceptive, and proficient in teaching students.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment in accordance with LifeWise policies and procedures.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-ordered classroom.
• Know procedures for emergency situations.
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community.
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties.
• Communicate with the teacher.
