Kokua Education is hiring substitute teachers in Glenn Heights, Texas, and the surrounding Fort Worth area for the 2026–27 school year. Substitute teachers can choose assignments and locations at K–12 schools across the area and work up to five days per week. Assignment schedules vary by school; most begin between 7:00 and 8:00 AM and end between 3:45 and 4:45 PM. Applicants are informed of the schedule before accepting an assignment. Substitute teachers lead classrooms and help provide a safe, supportive learning environment. They may also support the campus in other ways during the school day, including supervising lunch and recess, monitoring halls and bathrooms, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season. The role offers weekly pay of $125 per day for daily assignments and $135 per day for long-term assignments. Out-of-pocket costs are reimbursed after 10 teaching assignments. Employees receive a W-2, and Kokua's support team is available every day from 6 AM to 8 PM. Kokua Education was founded by a former teacher and has connected individuals with K–12 schools for more than 13 years. The organization says it aims to connect students with classroom role models who help them recognize their potential and contribute to their communities.
