About The Position

Columbia Academy Elementary and Middle School is seeking an on-call Substitute Teacher to maintain continuity in educational programs when regular teachers are absent. The role supports children’s learning, development, safety, and well-being while creating a positive and harmonious classroom environment. The ideal candidate is flexible, patient, and genuinely enjoys working with young children. Applicants may be qualified even without prior school experience if they meet the listed qualifications and have a love of working with children.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
Experience working with Pre-K through 8th grade.
Thorough understanding of pedagogy and best practices in education.
Strong supervisory, leadership, and classroom management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professionalism and tact in stressful situations.
Proven ability to take initiative to better support student learning and growth.
Ability to use standard office equipment such as a laptop computer and tablet.
Flexibility, patience, and a genuine love for working with young children.
