About The Position

Scoot Education hires educators for day-to-day and longer-term assignments in a variety of schools, including public, charter, private, independent, and faith-based institutions. Depending on an educator’s skills and certifications, assignments may be as a substitute teacher, paraprofessional, or in another student-support role. A dedicated Scoot Education Consultant matches educators with school assignments based on their skills, experience, and interests, and provides check-ins, practical advice, training opportunities, and career-planning support.

This is a non-exempt, hourly role; pay is based on hours worked and varies according to certification, school, and assignment. Day-to-day assignment rates may differ from rates for long-term placements. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree, or college credits.
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State and federal background checks.

• A teaching credential or certificate, or a 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit.
• Previous experience in special education settings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Encourage student engagement and participation throughout the day.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following any lesson plans left by the teacher.
• Communicate clearly with school staff.
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher.
